Anil Adhikari known professionally as Yama Buddha, is a Nepali rapper and songwriter. He was born in May 30, 1987 in Leguwa, Dhankuta, to Father Ambika Prasad Adhikari. His stage name Yama Buddha symbolizes the balance between the good and evil. He is a gifted songwriter and his song writing revolves around current social issues.
Yama Buddha's family moved from Dhankuta to Morang when he was only six years old. Later his family shifted to Kathmandu when he was in sixth grade. After completing his high school Yama Buddha went to United Kingdom for his further education as an IT Engineer but he decided to follow his heart and made a career in hip-hop music.
Yama Buddha was by far the most popular rapper in Nepal. He released his first album "Ekadeshma" in 2012 that include songs "Aama", "Jutta Ma", "Think Smart", "Pagalpan" etc. The audience loved the simple but deep words that he used in his songs. He was the presenter and creator of Nepali Rap Battle show called "Raw Barz". He also collaborate with international artists Ira, Chingy, Neha Kakkar in Nachana.
Yama Buddha was living in London, United Kingdom with his wife and was found dead in his apartment bathroom on 14 January, 2017.
