Sabin Rai is a Nepali singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is often compared to Canadian singer Bryan Adams due to his similar husky voice. He is also known for his brilliant stage performance and the way he sings his old songs in different style. His songs are mostly romantic and very popular among youth.
Sabin Rai was born on February 5, 1974 in Dharan, Nepal to Sanja Rai and Manju Rai. He had a fun filled childhood. After completing his school he decided to quit studying and went to Korea in 1990 to work at the very young age. While in Korea, he started listening to Narayan Gopal and his love for Nepali music grew. His friend taught him how to play guitar after he came back to Nepal.
In 2001 Sabin Rai composed a song "Kripaya" and released his first album "Nine" which sadly went unnoticed and he almost lost hope. But with the release of his second album Sataha in 2003 made him superstar overnight. His music video of the song "Komal Tyo Timro" starring actress Namrata Shrestha worked like a magic to promote him ever further. Sabin Rai has released five albums, Nine (2001), Sataha (2003), Sabin Rai Remixes (2004), Sataha 2 (2006), Ranga Manch Ko Rang (2010).
